Boule: Vanity Fair and SEO Spam Accessibility

by D. Diederot
Boule, n. French; a ball. Coll. used to refer to a little surprise gift; a pleasant discovery; a small, delightful thing.

Web accessibility guidelines suggest adding meta text to images, in the case an image isn’t rendered or cannot be seen, its meaning and purpose remains available to the visitor.

This discovery comes from Vanity Fair, a sleazy political entertainment article. The structured stream of invective features the following:

“Image may contain Donald Trump People Person Accessories Formal Wear Tie Crowd Adult Body Part Finger and Hand”

Another reason to include image meta text is for improved search engine indexing. However, I struggle to image anyone, ever, under duress or willingly, doing a search for “adult body part finger”, and being pleased to find themselves looking at a photo of Donald Trump.

As ever, I remain open to the possibility of such an event’s existence.
